The new Micro 9 is based on Kimber's popular recoil-operated. 45 Micro, I'm gonna get an EMP - I think my wife will really, really like it.Package of 3 Micro 9mm Recoil Springs.

I think it's all highly subjective and up to the end user. the 6-rd OEM mags) rounds of 9mm with slightly better concealability and much easier follow-up shot capability a good trade-off? Is two (I use 7-rd Wilson 47OX mags in my Micro vs. It's also a very accurate little pistol.įor me, the grip on the Micro fits my hand better, but I sure liked the easy controllability of the EMP.

Recoil is negligible, and almost unnoticeable when shot against the Micro's substantial. The mag protrudes very little, and the grip size is noticeably smaller than that of the Micro. The stainless slide is fit very, very well and a "light-colored" slide shouldn't be an issue with the excellent Novak sights. Fit and finish is superb I think SA has crafted a beautiful little pistol. The EMP appears to have the excellent "Armory Coat" finish on the frame vs. I've examined both the AEGIS and the EMP closely, at length - but yesterday got to try out an EMP side-by-side with my SA (bi-tone loaded) Micro-Compact. If I had it to do all over again, I may have chosen the EMP.ĭisclaimer: I am a Kimber lover, own a few - but have NOT owned or shot an AEGIS. It is currently back at the Kimber factory to have some of the problems corrected (hopefully). In fact, I've been very disappointed in the pistol and in Kimber. EMP is silver over black, Aegis II is black over silver.Īs I have posted in another thread in this Kimber section, my Aegis II has been less than satisfactory. So, I thought I'd give Kimber a try, having never owned a Kimber before.ģ. My shooting buddies have Kimber 9's which came with better trigger pulls and accuracy. I have a Springfield full-size 9mm which came from the factory with an atrocious trigger pull and mediocre accuracy. The EMP being "scaled down" does not use standard parts in their scaled-down parts, and replacement parts must be purchased from Springfield, if they're available at all.Ģ. The Kimber has standard size (officer's) parts, so "customizing" it or replacing parts won't be difficult. I wrestled with this same problem and ultimately decided on the Aegis II.
